Join NYCLA's Criminal Justice Section, and our experienced trainers as they provide an experience-based understanding of the foundational components of Restorative Justice, which seeks to create the structure and space for persons from various backgrounds to discover and activate their ability to work together toward their own well-being.
Participants will experience a unique storytelling based circle process and then discuss the potential for this framework of connectives to help them navigate conflict. The experiential training workshop is engaging, lively, and informative. Participants experience firsthand how circles realign power dynamics among and within us, how storytelling creates vulnerability and empathic listening, and how this model is a new paradigm for Restorative Justice.
The Goal of the program is for participants to gain insights into an alternative dispute resolution model for themselves, their clients, and their communities.
