To support the development of local youth leaders, build bridges, and hold space for one another as a community.

There are a number of ways to support Restorative Justice in the community, either through volunteering time and services or monetary support. Details below.


Community Circles in Newburgh

August 12-14

A Community Circle is a place to listen and speak, a place to gain a deeper understanding of self and others. A circle is formed when a group of people come together with the intention of listening to each other. Throughout the weekend, multiple Community Circles will be facilitated by the Week of Restorative Justice newly trained Newburgh Community Circle Keepers.

The schedule for community circles over the weekend is as follows:

Volunteer Opportunities

As a community-based event, the Week of Restorative Justice is looking for the support of local volunteers. Ways that you can help include:

  • Transportation of Food, Water, and other Refreshments

  • Design - t shirt and/or flyers

  • Spreading awareness of the event on social media as a community ambassador

  • T-Shirt/Packet Distribution (During the Week)

  • Arranging venue before/during/after circles (setting up chairs, cleaning afterwards)

  • Join a Circle - all volunteers are encouraged to also join a circle during the weekend

 

 

Sponsorship opportunities

For local businesses & community centers — help hold space for your neighbors by contributing in any of the following ways:

  • Host the 5-day Restorative Justice Training - either monetarily or by providing your own space

  • Host a Circle (includes either physically hosting or providing gift cards to participants)

  • Cater a Circle (includes providing snacks to the participants of a particular circle)

  • Providing gift cards/complementary goods to youth participants

  • T-Shirt Production

  • 1 meal a day (5 meals total) will need to be catered during training
